H.F.R.L. resigned from R.L.E.F. membership in favour of the "Rugby League committee" of the H.F.Mo.P.

The Hellenic Federation of Rugby League, issued a press release about their resignation from RLEF membership in favour of the "Rugby League Committee" of the H.F.Mo.P.
In the press release we read:

After five years of hard work and many obstacles and opposition we had to face, we succeeded to get the great sport of Rugby League, recognized by the Greek Government.
The HFRL applied in 2014 to the Ministry of Culture and Sports for recognition as an independent Federation.
In 2014 we were informed unofficially, that the General Secretariat of Sports had the intention of putting Rugby League under the authority of the Rugby Union Federation. We rejected that possibility and we succeeded to delay the decision.
Apart from that, we tried to establish all the law requirements for recognition. The most difficult was the part of “having 20 clubs” active in Rugby League. We had 26 (and now 36) registered clubs, but only 14 have played League at least once. Much less were prepared to participate in a competition. One more obstacle was the fact that a number of clubs had bureaucratic problems (papers missing) in order to get recognition by the General Secretariat of Sports.
This entire situation, led us to an uncertain condition.
.....................................
One of the problems was the fact that RLIF is not recognised by the IOC. They asked us for an official letter from RLEF in witch we are members, certifying that Rugby League and Rugby Union are different and separate sports. Although we asked that letter more than once from Mr. Kazandjian, although the Board of Directors was officially informed about Mr. Kazandjian’s refusal, the letter was never sent to us. That led the GSS not to have recent official and strong evidence about the independence of League.
We also tried to enforce our numbers of players and clubs. We found some new clubs, we started women and junior activity, but the split among our members made our effort more difficult. It is a coincidence indeed the fact that the split happened when everyone knew that we were close to the recognition.
The lack of recognition from the Government made us operating on the edge of legality. We had to play in a semi-official status. Official for the Greek Justice Authorities and for the Tax Office but unofficial for the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
All these problems made it urgent to have as soon as possible the Governmental recognition. When we realised finally that recognising the H.F.R.L. would take months, we decided to ask the GSS to put us under the aegis of an official and recognised Olympic Federation. We proposed the Federation of Modern Pentathlon, who recently had accepted also another Olympic Sport: Triathlon (after the Triathlon federation lost recognition status because they had less than 16 recognised clubs).
The GSS finally accepted our proposal and they put Rugby League under the aegis of the H.F.Mo.P.
Taking under consideration the facts:
  1. Rugby League must be recognised in order to be developed,
  2. Rugby League must be recognised in order to avoid obstacles,
  3. We proposed to the GSS to put us under the aegis of the Hellenic Federation of Modern Pentathlon,
  4. The General Secretary of Sports decided to put Rugby League in the H.F.Mo.P.,
  5. The Greek Sports Law does not allow anyone else but the recognised federation to run the sport,
We resign from R.L.E.F. membership
in favour of the Rugby League Committee of the H.F.Mo.P.
